Letter from Our Director
Dear Parents:
It has been a privilege to work with preschoolers since 1969. I enjoy children. They are so eager to learn and such fun to teach. I can honestly say that I have loved every child I have taught. We try to encourage and stimulate, to build self-confidence and foster a love of learning. Age three to five is such an exciting time in life -- a time of great growth. Researchers tell us this the time of greatest change in a child's life. What better way to nurture self-esteem than to have a positive pre-school experience!
Our teachers this year will be:
Mrs. Margaret Wozimirsky, B.Ed:
Mrs. “W” has 20 years experience teaching kindergarten and grade one in the public school system. She is a dedicated community volunteer and provides ongoing support for individuals with specials needs through a respite care program. Mrs. W joined our teaching staff in September 2008.
Mrs. Crystal McDonald (TA):
Mrs. McDonald has 8 years experience as a teacher assistant in the Catholic and Public School Systems. She has experience working with individuals with special needs through special programs called “S.T.A.R.T.” and “Choices”. Mrs. McDonald is also very involved with children in our community through coaching soccer, and holds her certificate in First Aid. This is Mrs. McDonald’s 5th year at SHNS.
Mrs. Trina Loucraft, B.Ed:
Mrs. Loucraft is a recent graduate from the elementary education program at the University of Alberta. Minoring in Educational Psychology, Mrs. Loucraft is particularly interested in how positive behavioral techniques can benefit classroom dynamics. Mrs. Loucraft joined our teaching staff in January 2008 and is returning to our classroom after being on maternity leave last year.
We welcome parents! You are invited to come anytime! It's always nice to have an extra pair of hands in regular class activities or on an excursion. You are not under any obligation to attend, but if you would enjoy visiting a class then please do. We think you'll have fun too.
